Huntington Lake has beautiful scenery and refreshing
temperatures. There isn't quite anything like spending some

Canoeing or Kayaking is a very good way to get up close to the
edge of the lake. This is where many of the returning birds
are. Often deer come down to the waters edge also. Canoes can

Although the Wilderness trails are not available in the
spring, many enjoyable hours of walk are available in the lake
basin. While walking around the lake the streams which feed
the lake will run full. Deer come to the lake edge at
twilight. Rancheria Falls put on a spectacular display.

Many beautiful birds come back to the area in spring. Those
staying at Huntington Lake enjoy sitting on their decks
watching the birds come to bird feeders or seeds placed on the
deck railing.

Before the snow is all melted wild flowers start to put on
their annual show. The first to blossom is the red spike of
the Snow flower. Come to Huntington Lake and see all the Mountain
Flowers as they go from Winter to Spring to Summer. Truley the

If you want to see the area up close but don't want to walk it
all, bring your bicycle. There are many roads ideal for
bicycling. Huntington Lake is known for it's exquisite beauty and
bicycling is one of the many ways to take it all in.

Many people who come to Huntington Lake enjoy horseback
riding. From the back of a horse Huntington Lake looks a great
deal more beautiful, we are not really sure why. It may have
something to do with the feeling that you get when you are
that close to nature. Some may call it primitive, some may
refer to it as primal. We like to call it magical. Horses and
